I'm
not going to describe each picture except to point out Peter Nielsen's
beautiful '54 Judson Oval (right) as a worthy selection as one of the
"Top 20" cars of the weekend.
The Judson has only recently been fitted and this was Peter's first long
journey from Denmark. As you can imagine the round trip of 1800kms
(1125mls) needed an element of courage and it's a credit to Peter's
preparation that the journey went without a hitch. On what was a hot
summer week in Europe (air temps 25-30°C) the engine oil temperature
reached a maximum of 105°C.
The first thing Peter wanted to know on our first meeting was how did the
Judson sound to me. The engine was duly started and I was able to assure
Peter that it sounded as sweet a Judson as I'd ever heard; no tinkle, no
clatter just that classic supercharger whistle...I wish mine sounded as
sweet.
